1. TITLE RUMOURS There is a rumour that the title for Episode II will be: "The Rise of the Empire". I certainly hope not! The Clone Wars are a very important historical event in the Star Wars Galaxy and are consequently fully deserving of a movie-title all their own. I mean would you title an all-encompassing film about the enormous Second World War: "The Rise of the Third Reich"? Of course you wouldn't! That particular war, (like the Clone Wars), was far too vast in scope.
2. BIZARRE LOVE TRIANGLE It is also rumoured that Obi-Wan, Queen Amidala, and Anakin will all be combined in a "love-triangle" during Episode II. Perhaps this is further explanation of the future wedge between Anakin's and Obi-Wan's relationship?
Some are rumouring that the Love-Triangle will be between Anakin, Queen Amidala, and Bail Organa of Alderaan. This could be the reason why Bail Organa was chosen as Leia's guardian/foster parent. It is also rumoured that Alderaan itself will be one of the fabulous new settings in Star Wars Episode II. We have yet to see Alderaan, (which will eventually be destroyed by the first Death Star in Epiosde IV).
3. A SPACE-AGE SPARTACUS Rumours are buzzing around that Anakin will indeed return to Tatooine to free all the slaves as he promised his mother in Episode I. This rumour has much creedence behind it, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if it were true.
5. 3PO STILL HALF-NAKED
E Online www.eonline.com , is stating that C-3PO will still be only partly constructed in Episode II. He will have slightly more coverings on his legs and torso.
6. THERE'S A NEW SITH IN TOWN
E Online also states that Rick McCallum suggested the emergence of another Sith Lord in Episode II. WWW rumours say his name will be "Darth Detori", (or "Darth Rage"). Darth Sidious will then send this new Sith to Tatooine to kill Anakin's mother Shmi Skywalker. Most likely, this is indeed "Darth Tyranus" (a.k.a. Fallen Jedi Count Dooku).
7. MIRROR MIRROR
Rumors are going around that Darth Maul will return as a clone of himself. There are also those claiming that Darth Sidious is an evil clone of Senator Palpatine or vise-versa. There's even a ridiculous rumour that Darth Vader is an evil spirit that takes over Anakin's mind or something, perhaps another evil clone. (Absurd)!
8. WHO'S YOUR DADDY?
Perhaps the wildest rumours going around are speculations about the parentage of young Anakin Skywalker. It doesn't seem that any of the Star Wars fans out there in our not-so-far-away galaxy are falling for Shmi Skywalker's lame explanation of her son's immaculate conception. And am I the only one out there who finds that particular part of the story just a wee bit arguably blasphemous to the Christian belief of Christ's miraculous conception?
Many fans are speculating that Senator Palpatine is Anakin's true father, and that just like Luke in "Empire Strikes Back", little Annie will get a major revelation when daddy finally reveals his true identity. Funny how history repeats itself.

I am personally not ruling out the possibility of Darth Maul being Anakin's father. Maybe Palpatine enslaves apprentices at will and forces them to be breeding stock for future Sith Lords as well as thugs to do his dirty work? Maybe Maul is Shmi's husband who lost a bet to Palpatine, who now owns Maul's soul? It's food for thought gang.

I am basing this specualtion soley on music. Notice how each villian has his own evil theme music when they are onscreen. Darth Maul's subtle, yet evil Sith whisperings and incantations can be heard when Shmi overhears Qui-Gon discussing Anakin's midi-chlorian count with Obi-Wan over the comm-link.
9. THE GREAT JEDI PURGE
Many are spreading rumours that an army, (or at least a dozen to 14 or so), of Darth Maul clones will kill off many of the Jedi Council. But Obi-Wan himself tells Luke in "Episode IV: A New Hope" that Darth Vader helped the Emporer hunt down and murder the Jedi Knights. Besides, don't you think that that particular task would be an impossibly difficult one? Only a miraculously poweful dark Jedi like Darth Vader could acheive it; afterall, Vader will eventually become FAR more deadly, evil, and powerful than Darth Maul ever was or could be. I personally believe that this event should take place in Episode III regardless. What will be left to tell in Episode III if everything concerning the Fall of the Republic and the end of the Jedi Council is told in this episode?
